IPEF Board Chair Retires
Board Chairman Kent Duncan was honored as he retired from the IPEF after 20 years of volunteer service.
Kent was appointed to the District 204 Business Partner committee in 1994 by then Superintendent Dr. Thomas Scullen and was instrumental in developing a business partnership strategy involving local business entities engaging with many schools on a local level along with district wide partnerships. In 1997 Kent joined the IPEF board and served in various positions over the next two decades including chair of the Grant Committee and Finance committees, Fine Arts Festival liaison, Treasurer, Vice Chairman and then his most recent role as Board Chairman from 2012-2017.
Under Kent’s leadership the IPEF developed a strategic vision with a goal of increasing funds raised annually to provide additional support for educational enrichments. In his five years as chairman, the Foundation more than doubled annual income and successfully completed the two largest campaigns in the organization’s history raising a combined total of more than $330,000.
The IPEF Board of Directors recognized Kent for his years of service with the title of Board Chairman Emeritus at their Annual Meeting in June.
